I really liked the atmosphere of this place. My friends also mentioned that they have a good selection of craft beers. I was mainly there for the food, and I loved that they had Milkis - Korean lemonade, I think, which was 10/10. The food was okay, but not as good as I expected. I tried tteokbokki for the first time, and it was a bit too sweet for me, though maybe that’s just the style of the dish. Overall, I’d say this place feels more like a bar with food than a restaurant for a full dinner. Still, I liked the vibe and would come back for drinks and snacks.
You will not find a more inviting awesome place near the Orpheum theater. Gabby is wonderful kind and helpful her staff is amazing and the establishment is clean and cute and i highly reccomend The Drink Beer Slay Dragons brew. Delish! I will def be back! Thanks Gabby!
Haru and SAMS are two separate restaurants under the same owner. We went to Korean restaurant bar, Haru. It was great. Very friendly atmosphere, people are nice, friendly, talk with strangers. Great place to go hang out. Food was good. Perfect volume. My recommendation was Edamame, which was cooked with garlic chips.
Was recommended by a coworker of mine who dined in. I ordered the spicy tuna poke bowl to go for lunch because the lunch bento menu changed. Total came up to be just shy of $18. The order came out quickly and included miso soup. Portion was on the small side and didn’t fill up the bowl, though the take out bowls are the bigger ones. The fish portion was good, a fist sized amount. I appreciated the sliced tuna as opposed to the minced tuna which is used at some poke places. But the toppings were minimal and the fish was on the sinewy side. Rice was also slightly more al dente than I would like. I wanted to like it but at the end of the day I had the runs. Maybe I’ll try the salmon one day but there are specialized poke options in the area.
Chill spot, plenty of regulars to chat with; true, pleasant neighborhood bar. Food wise: Haru burger will knock your socks off, I'm definitely coming back for another round. Also bartender Riley can stear your likes twords beverage you wanted and didn't know it yet. A++
