We finally made it in to the new (as of June 2026) Parasol by Cafe Flore. The space at this corner of 16th and Market has changed names a couple times in recent years. They have a great corner for the business and should be busy all the time. When we came in during the afternoon to reserve a table for dinner, the inside and outside were packed. Great sign! When we returned in the early evening the crowd had thinned out a bit, but it was still going strong. Our greeter was super friendly and energetic. She was awesome. So was Jacob and the bartender inside. We had made the reservation for inside, but the weather was holding out so we opted for a table out on the patio. Glass panels along the outer wall allow you to watch the activity on the street while still being shielded from the wind (for the most part anyway). They have indoor dining and the bar, (my cocktail was perfect), or be out on the patio with, you got it, parasol umbrellas, and then there are a couple picnic benches on the side street. Our server was brand new (literally) as another server was giving him instructions on how to take an order, right in front of us. BOO... don't do that. He was nice enough throughout the evening, but clearly needs to practice and get his confidence up to speed. I won't knock anyone down for learning. And besides, the other staff members here made the evening fun. For food, we enjoyed the gnocchi dish and the braised short rib with pearl cous cous and spinach. All were good and well prepared. Everyone here on this night were laughing and having a great time. That is always a good sign.

The food was very good and the service was quite fast. The place has a very unique aesthetic, and it’s a spot where you can enjoy a calm atmosphere and views of the street.

Parasol just opened and they are still settling into their rhythm. I look forward to returning after their grand opening in June or July. The first thing you notice is that there's no host stand. As you walk in, you have to hope to run into a server. We watched several customers come in confused as to what to do. Some tried to get somone's attention while some seated themselves. The food was good, but could have been better. On the short rib dish, the portion size was a little small for the price, and the spinach and couscous weren't seasoned. My partner told me the octopus was chewier than expected. The service was fine, but a little slow, and our entrees weren't served at the same time. There were a couple minutes delay and nothing was said when the first was brought to the table. The decor is nice, but the seat covers are concerning. The shag coverings seem like they'd be very difficult to clean.

Best dinner experience I’ve had in a while. We came here for a Mother’s Day dinner and ordered the short ribs, ahi carpaccio, octopus, carrot appetizer, and drinks. All the food was flavorful and creative, ahi tuna was amazing!! The drinks were very refreshing. Beautiful atmosphere too, with lots of plants and good vibes. Definitely coming back.

We’ve been for both lunch and dinner! Servers are extremely attentive and knowledgeable about where everything is sourced from. The food was fantastic! We really loved the halloumi, the carrots, and the brussels sprouts The environment is really cute as well! The greenhouse vibe is perfect for any event, and the fire pits create a great ambiance
