It is heaven on earth. Best lobster ever. I will come here again and again. Lobster is so huge - good for two girls. Bread is amazing. Very nice view - make your reservation early otherwise you wil be sitting at the bar. $160 for a dinner but worth every penny.

March, July 2021 Dining at Angler in March 2021 offered an exceptional case study in wood-fired culinary mechanics. Securing a seat with a direct view of the open-hearth fireplace is highly recommended, as it allows you to observe the kitchen’s precise temperature control firsthand. The service throughout the evening was excellent—polished, observant, and operating with a smooth, deliberate pace. The menu landmarks demonstrate a flawless understanding of texture and salinity. The Parker House rolls arrive perfectly proofed, boasting a uniform golden glaze, paired with a remarkably deep seaweed butter. When dismantled and stuffed with their pastured chicken and pan jus, it yields an incredibly balanced, structurally rich bite. The wood-oven roasted chicken itself was spectacular—among the finest versions I have ever encountered, executed with pristine skin lacquering and served rustic style with the feet intact. The accompanying elements maintain this high technical standard: the iconic whole radicchio salad balances bitter and sweet notes flawlessly, while the laminated potato showcases immaculate layer separation, anchored by a rich, sharp cheese sauce. Even the tabletop assets, like the heavy-duty custom knife, underscore the restaurant's sharp attention to detail. Due to mid-pandemic protocols, the buffalo milk soft serve arrived with the warm caramel sauce on the side. Pouring the sauce independently added a compelling, interactive component to a structurally perfect dessert. Angler successfully strips away the rigid formality of fine dining without sacrificing a single drop of its technical execution. A compelling, highly recommended dining experience in San Francisco.

This restaurant was absolutely outstanding and truly lived up to its Michelin-star reputation. We ordered the tasting menu, and every seafood dish was exceptionally fresh and well-seasoned. The flavors were thoughtful and balanced, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine through. The only minor drawback was the rice cake served beneath the scallop and sea urchin course. It was noticeably too salty. It seemed that the rice cake had been torched or grilled beforehand, causing moisture loss and concentrating the saltiness more than intended. The restaurant also offers beautiful views overlooking the harbor, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The service was attentive, professional, and well-paced—they took great care of us without interrupting our meal too frequently. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable meal. We will definitely be back.

The food here pretty amazing. Our only complaint is my wife found several of the dishes a little too salty, I thought it was great though. We did the set menu and the total ended up being ~$475 for both of us with tip and tax. I really loved the bluefin tuna with the rice cracker. I can't believe how much flavor they packed into that dish. This was both our favorite dish. For me it was very close with the uni toast, I honestly don't know how to describe it other than it being a very savory and rich flavor. I do agree that one was a tad bit too salty, otherwise it would have been the best dish for me by a large margin. If you have the chance to come here for a special occasion to try it yourself I really recommend it. We'll definitely be coming back to try it again in the future.

We went to Angler with my boyfriend and had a really great experience overall. The food was excellent. To start, we ordered the bluefin tuna and the bread—both were amazing. For our main course, we had the whole sea bream, which was absolutely delicious and a great size to share. We also shared the Angler potato and the greens salad, both very tasty and generous in portion. Everything we tried was truly delicious. The only downside was the timing of the service. There was a 40-minute wait between our starter and the main course. We ended up asking our server what was going on since we had a reservation at a bar afterward and needed to leave. After the long wait, the fish finally arrived, but we had to eat it quickly so we wouldn’t be late, which was a bit of a shame. That said, the overall experience was very positive. The food was outstanding, and the place has a really great vibe.
