Decided to walk down to Tony's on a Sunday while visiting San Francisco. For whatever reason, I showed up early - and I was glad I did. There was a line 1/2 block long and I arrived 10 minutes early before the place even opened! Soon, the line was practically down the end of the block. I figured - wow 😲 this place must be amazing! I was seated at the bar which was fine. Bartender greeted me pretty quickly and provided me a menu. The menu was pretty extensive. I decided to try the gluten free deep dish Detroit style pizza with sausage. It took over 45 minutes to receive the order. The pizza was very average. I honestly don't think sausage was even on it unless it was so finely ground that it melted into the crust. The crust was dense and chewy and honestly felt overcooked. Overall, I felt it wasn't worth the $27 I spent. I did like the atmosphere; it was very busy with a lot of activity and conversation among patrons. Nonetheless, I would go back next time I'm in SF and try something else to see if my opinion improves.
Tony’s Pizza Napoletana is absolutely worth the visit. The pizza was outstanding, with fresh ingredients, a perfectly crispy crust, and incredible flavor in every bite. The menu offers a great variety, and everything was served fresh and beautifully prepared. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. One of the best pizza experiences I’ve ever had—I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in San Francisco!
Tony’s Pizza definitely lives up to its reputation for quality. The fresh ingredients really stand out, and the New Yorker pizza was outstanding. The crust was perfectly cooked with an incredible crispness that gave every bite great texture without being overdone. You can tell they take pride in using high-quality ingredients. The service was very friendly, although it was a bit slower than expected. It almost felt like our table was just outside our waitress’s usual service area, so there were a few longer waits than we’d have liked. The prices are what you’d expect for California, but the quality of the food makes it worthwhile. If you’re looking for exceptional pizza made with fresh ingredients and a perfectly crispy crust, Tony’s is absolutely worth a visit.
Located on the corner of Union and Stockton St. We have been ordering their pizzas through Gold Belly for years and decided to try the restaurant since we were visiting San Francisco. Gino was our server and he was welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately that was where the good ended… What we ordered: 1.) Garlic Bread $12.00 This was a bit too crunchy over baked but still tasty 2.) Spaghetti and meatballs $27.00 My girlfriend said it was so tasteless and bland, she barely ate it and said she would need to take it home and doctor it up to be edible! 3.) Combo Americans Pizza $38.50 Hubby said his pizza was just ok 4.) Margherita Pizza $30.00 5.) Margherita Pizza with Salame $36.00 unfortunately these two pizzas were with forgotten, never ordered at kitchen or given to other patrons because after a half an hour, I nor our other guest had not received our pizzas. Once we did get them, they were just ok. The manager did give us dessert, but the food was disappointing. So bummed, I will continue to order thru Gold Belly, but will not be back to this spot too much hype not enough great tasting food and over priced!
Visited Tony’s Pizza Napoletana and had a mixed experience. The garlic bread was very good and definitely one of the highlights of the meal. We also ordered the La Regina pizza. While it wasn’t my favorite choice and I wouldn’t order it again, the pizza was huge and could easily feed 5-6 people. The outdoor tables along the street created a fun atmosphere, and the servers were friendly and attentive. We waited about 20 minutes, which wasn’t too bad considering how busy the place was. The biggest downside was parking. Finding a spot in the area was a nightmare, so plan accordingly. Overall, a good experience with great service and atmosphere, even though the pizza choice didn’t quite work for me.
