Came for a celebration with a larger group. We were sat at the end closest to the entrance at a long table which did not feel private since everyone walks by. There was a set minimum pretax amount that was hard to hit despite buying bottles of sake and wine. Food was okay. The people who were vegetarian did need multiples of the same order to be full. There was a decent level of noise but still able to hear everyone at the table.
Best Japanese Steakhouse we've ever been to. From the A5 wagyu that melts like butter in your mouth, to the sushi/sashimi/nagiri and desserts - amazing menu. Top notch service. Will come back
Absolutely exceptional experience from start to finish. Every dish felt intentional, beautifully executed, and incredibly fresh. The nigiri was a standout. Perfectly seasoned rice with delicate, high-quality fish, topped with thoughtful touches that elevated each bite without overpowering it. The salmon dish with chili and sesame had just the right balance of heat and brightness, and the crispy rice was addictive. The grilled shishito peppers were simple but done right, blistered with a deep, smoky flavor and finished with bonito that added a subtle umami depth. The octopus was tender and flavorful, paired with acidity and texture that made it one of the most memorable dishes of the night. Beyond the food, the presentation was stunning across the board. Every plate felt curated, not just assembled. The atmosphere was warm and stylish, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. This is the kind of place you go when you want sushi that feels thoughtful and elevated.
Outstanding service and amazing modern robatayaki style japanese food. shouts out caesar on the grill - your charcoal grilled presentation was amazing and so tasty ! nate — sushi was amazing - fish temperature was on point, the shari was delectable tanner - thank you for the hospitality, kindness and laughters and lastly Jeff — our server , you were truly on point the whole night from beginning till end. Much appreciated team Roka .. ill definitely be back .
pleasant atmosphere, attentive servers that are easy to get the attention of, and good food. our reservation was for 8pm and the server kindly informed us that the kitchen closed at 9 so ordering any extra food before then was acceptable. we first ordered the sashimi platter, dry aged ribeye, wagyu tartare, fresh oysters, and bone marrow. around halfway through our meal we also ordered the corn, more oysters, and a bowl of rice. the staff were very accomodating when we asked for plain rice around 9pm, didnt expect them to accept that order but they managed to fulfill it. one issue we had was how long it took for the corn, dry aged rib eye, and bone marrow to arrive to our table. the sashimi, tartare, and oysters were quick, but the other three took much longer and didnt arrive until the 44 minute mark of the hour. otherwise, amazing service. the oysters and bone marrow were our favorites, everything else was okay. the wasabi was textured and different from every other place we have dined at on the east and qest coast! truly wonder how roka akor prepares the wasabi. the corn was good but what they dont tell you is that its corn on the cob halved. it's a little messy and personally i think cutting them lengthwise into quarters or thinner would ensure for a less messy experience for the customer so that customers can still use their chopsticks for the corn on the cob.
