Hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. I’m from out of town and was visiting San Francisco with my friends for the first time when we had the privilege of dining during the Abacá × Breadbelly collaboration. It was so special to see Filipino food presented with so much appreciation, and attention to detail while showcasing such unique Filipino flavours. We’ll definitely be back to try their regular menu the next time we’re in the Bay.
10/10 tasting menu, literally, all ten bites were perfect. There were many standout dishes but our favorite thing was how every dish had a balanced and unique texture profile. The service was incredible, we had Phi and he was so knowledgeable and walked us through each course and pairing! Thoroughly enjoyed a date night there. Only thing we would recommend is sitting inside if you can, the noise from the street can be a little bothersome but otherwise lovely outside too. They also had heaters and blankets when it got chilly!
I’m really happy to see an upscale Filipino cuisine experience like Abacá. The ambiance is elegant and welcoming, and the presentation of each dish is beautifully done—it truly elevates Filipino food to another level. Every plate feels thoughtfully crafted and refined while still honoring the flavors I love. It was also such a pleasure meeting Chef Francis—his passion and creativity really shine through in the food. Looking forward to coming back and trying more!
Had my birthday dinner here last night. Wow 10/10! The space is beautiful, light and airy, sophisticated, but not pretentious. All of the staff were amazing, very personable, friendly, kind and professional. We did the family style meal and it's worth every penny. I see why they won a Michelin Star last year! Every dish was outstanding and their wine pairings were spot on. They are able to accommodate to dietary allergies and you don't feel like you're missing out on anything. Our favorite dishes were the stuff quail and the crispy lamb ribs with consommé. This was such a special dinner and the staff ever signed a card wishing me happy birthday! So sweet! My new favorite restaurant in the city!
The place has a very nice and warm atmosphere. The staff are nice and welcoming. Not a traditional Pilipino food. More of a fusion. We had the lumpia, ukoy, stuffed quail, pork sisig fried rice and the creme brulee. 3 items we ordered were on the tart side except for the quail and creme brulee. It would have been nice for the wait staff to advise us of such paring. Cant really enjoy the flavor of each dish. Servings are small.
