Recently went here with family and thoroughly enjoyed the Piccante Puccia Pugliese (pictured). We’ve been here several times and the food and service is excellent. We are also visiting Puglia in the coming months and Antonio, the owner, was kind enough to recommend several places and activities while we are there. Wish that I lived in SF so I could visit this place more and 10/10 recommend visiting when you are in town and craving Italian.
Forget the usual Italian spot — this is authentic Pugliese cuisine, done right by Antonio and his team. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully made, and the service is genuinely top-notch. Don’t skip the Orecchiette con Cime di Rapa — it’s one of the best dishes on the menu.
We hosted a birthday dinner for a group of 12 here last night, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. It is incredibly rare to find such authentic, traditional Pugliese dishes in SF—some of these plates are so hyper-regional they feel exotic even to native Italians! Our table was full of Italian expats with very exacting standards, and the food completely exceeded everyone's expectations. The meal was spectacular from start to finish. The traditional, high-quality cheeses and cured meats were the perfect start, and you can truly taste the care they put into sourcing their fresh produce—the artichokes, which come straight from a friend’s farm, were unbelievable. But the absolute standout of the night was the paccheri; it is made from the owner's mother’s recipe and it absolutely shows. We finished off the night with a round of their decadent desserts, which were the perfect end to the meal. Beyond the incredible food, the service was flawless. The restaurant itself is such a warm, cozy space, making it perfect for a celebration. I also have to highlight how communicative and helpful the team was prior to the dinner. Coordinating a large group with various dietary requests is never easy, but they accommodated every single need seamlessly. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Five stars for a dinner that felt like a quick trip to Puglia right in the Haight. Uva Enoteca delivered hit after hit — the Burrata e Prosciutto vanished instantly, the Funghi e Tartufo was rich and earthy perfection, and the Orecchiette della Mamma tasted like your Italian grandmother was quietly running the kitchen. Dessert sealed the deal: pistachio and cherry marmalade Puccia Dolce plus the Budino al Cioccolato. Conversation basically stopped after the first bites. Service from Kat was warm, relaxed, and perfectly timed. Cozy atmosphere and fantastic pasta.
Uva Enoteca is a hidden gem on haight street! The food tastes incredibly authentic, and the team takes care to use high quality ingredients, many which are imported directly from Italy. Highly recommend trying their pizza & pairing it with their amazing wine selection, and make sure to save room for dessert + espresso at the end😋 Amazing spot for group events as well, with a large tasting menu! The staff was extremely helpful & created a special experience for our group dinner
