I have been a few times now, and am on board with the mixed reviews regarding food quality and customer service. One day I visited, and the pho was very good and above average. The next time I went, the rice was hard and the mushrooms were not cooked well. They have good amenities and a quaint restaurant, and I always wonder why it is never more busy. After going a few times, I now understand. I am sure I will return to sample another dish or have some soup, but it would not be a regular restaurant spot for me.
Great atmosphere and service and menu options. I love the fact that they are willing to serve you a lunch special even after lunchtime. Many Chinese restaurants don’t do this, and I don’t understand why because they can welcome a lot more customers offering the rice plates all day. The only pet peeve that I had at this place is that a normal guy came in to use the bathroom and then when he came out the lady that runs the place sort of tried to demand him to buy something because he had to use the bathroom and he apologized and said hey, I’m sorry I just had to really go and she still demanded him to use the bathroom because he had used her water so she said it’s not fair that you get to use my water and don’t pay for anything which I think is pretty petty. But besides this little incident, the restaurant is pretty good.
The meal was fantastic. We tried the sugar cane fried prawns, pork and shrimp egg rolls, combo pho, and dry cooked Meiji prawns, and everything was full of flavor. The order arrived quickly, the service was attentive, and the prices felt very fair. A solid five star experience.
I came on a rainy Thursday. Plenty of seating, clean, and quick friendly service. The food is good for the price especially. No hot tea though, I hope they get that in the future ;)
