Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. at PIER 39 has been one of my favorite restaurants for years, and this location reminded me why. The combination of great food, a fun Forrest Gump theme, and incredible waterfront views makes it a must-visit whenever I’m in San Francisco. We were lucky enough to get a table with an amazing view overlooking the bay, making the entire dining experience even more memorable. Watching the boats, taking in the fresh ocean air, and enjoying the energy of PIER 39 while eating was the perfect way to spend part of our long layover. The food was exactly what I’ve come to expect from Bubba Gump’s, delicious, fresh, and consistently good. The service was friendly, and the fun atmosphere made it a great place for families, couples, or anyone visiting San Francisco. ⭐ Nicole Recommends: If you’re visiting PIER 39, don’t skip Bubba Gump. Request a window seat if you can the views alone are worth it. Great food, great atmosphere, and one of the best waterfront dining experiences on the pier. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Located at end of pier 39 and loved the atmosphere with great views of the ocean and loads with Forrest Gump memorabilia. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. I got the Cajun shrimp appetizer and the jumbolia. Shrimp was delicious fresh but the jumbolia had too much rice, chicken not enough sausage or shrimp and flavor was ok. Prices typical for sanfrancisco tourist location about 25-30 a plate but portions were good
I was so looking forward to trying out the coconut shrimps and they didn't disappoint. We enjoyed the lively atmosphere. All the food was lovely tasted and well presented. We enjoyed looking at the film memorabilia, reading all the quotes from Forest Gump. After the meal we ordered cocktails and received a free cocktail Shaker. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Prices are in line with whats expected in a tourist location. Lovely views over the bay. We would eat here again.
Honestly, great environment, great restaurant theme, grest service, but the food did not surprised me. Maybe it's just my like, or the big espectation that I have, or the things I ordered, but I did not enjoy the food that much. But everything else was great. The Margarita was great and huge. Just the food wasn't as good as I expected. Not horrible, but not excellent. Overall, 4.0 for me. The gift shop definitely a plus.
We went to Bubba Gump after we saw the movie once again online. We knew we had to wait because it was saturday and a during the holidays there is more people.The wait was 45 minutes but the restaurantbis right on pier 39 so lots of places to visit while waiting. They texted us and we got in.It was truly fun to see the characters from the movie displayed all around the restaurant. We loved that to stop the waiter at the table We had to flip the sign from 'run forest run ' to 'stop Forest stop'. We were seated next to a window so we could also enjoy the outside. The customer service was great. They gave a themed coloring to my child which made him smile. The food was very yummy I ordered from their 30th anniversary menu the dipper. Which is a spicy shrimp soup , rice and garlic bread. My child ordered the pop corn shrimp which he loved because the container was a boat just like in the movie. We really loved the lively vibe. The prices were reasonable. Also after we left we took photos on forest bench and there was the chocolate box and all. I would say this one memory I will really cherish with my child.
