Lovely spot to eat. Our server was very attentive and professional. The food was delicious! We split a clam chowder and it was perfect! We ordered the linguine with meatballs & fettuccine with smoked salmon in pesto sauce. Everything was perfect.
Visited with our toddler (tired and hungry). Food was brought out quickly for him (and was delicious) but he wasn’t in the mood to eat so got quite cranky. My husband took him outside to try settle him so I could eat, and the staff, or one lady at least, made us feel bad by closing the windows while my husband was outside calming my son. I appreciate people don’t want to listen to a whinging toddler, but you don’t have to be obvious about it. We weren’t even there late, has a 5pm booking, reasonable for young children. The chef as well told my son not to break wooden animal figurines left out near our table even though he wasn’t even rough playing with them, and we were watching him as well to make sure he didn’t do anything wrong. I felt a bad vibe from the staff at the restaurant, and may have been while my son didn’t settle there. We’ve been travelling a lot around the US the least week and a half and this is the least comfortable he’s been. The food otherwise was delicious. I had the seafood linguine in the tomato cream sauce and my husband had the lobster ravioli in the tomato cream sauce. Great flavours and fresh seafood. Just a shame about the service.
A Must-Order at Betty Lou’s Ever since we discovered the Wok Crab at Betty Lou’s, we’ve been hooked. This casual spot in Little Italy is known for its standout seafood, and the Wok Crab is the dish that keeps us coming back. The crab is sautéed with cilantro and scallions, along with plenty of garlic and ginger, all brought together in a savory soy-based sauce that coats every bite. It’s the kind of dish where you’ll definitely want extra bread on the table—perfect for soaking up every last bit of that incredible sauce. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the service is consistently friendly and attentive. A nice bonus: they allow you to bring your own bottle of wine for a $25 corkage fee, which makes the meal even more enjoyable.
Mixed service snd food experience The atmosphere was one of the highlights of the night. We sat at a window table facing Columbus Street, which turned out to be perfect for people watching. It was a lively evening. We spent more time pointing out what we saw outside than having our own conversation. We started with the Caesar salad. It was good, though smaller than I expected after being told the dishes were family style. The fried calamari was also good. It came with a tarter and cocktail sauce. The standout dish of the night was the cioppino. It came with a generous amount of seafood and the scallops were cooked perfectly, tender and not rubbery. Food wise, everything was excellent. Service, unfortunately, was a bit lackluster. Our waiter never refilled our water glasses, never checked if we wanted another glass of wine, and seemed impatient when we asked for more time to read the menu even though the restaurant was only about half full.
Absolutely love this place. My wife and I found this hidden gem last summer on a weekend trip to SF. So when I was in town one night for business, we made a drive intro eh city for a great dinner before our flight. Lucky for us it was a rainy Tuesday night and we didn’t have to wait for a table. The service here is so good! They had fresh bread (and I mean piping hot fresh sourdough straight out of the oven) on the table in a couple minutes. I had the clam chowder and it was so friggin good! Amazing taste and chuck of clams spread out in almost every bite. Then I ordered the same thing I got last time, linguine with seafood 🍤 🍣! The pasta is done of the best homemade pasta I’ve ever eaten. They literally pack this full of clams, mussels, calamari and a giant scallop and shrimp. I love that they don’t scrimp on the seafood. Definitely a hidden secret but my first choice for authentic Italian In little Italy 🇮🇹!
