We went here for a celebratory dinner after running the San Francisco Half Marathon. This place was wonderful! I loved the decor, so intricate and vibrant. The food was AMAZING, so flavorful and fresh. We had the mushroom bruschetta, fillet mignon, a vegetarian pasta dish (I cant remember the name but it was SO GOOD), and the Crème brûlée for dessert. The staff was friendly and attentive. If we lived locally we would absolutely eat here again.
The food and decorations really carried this experience. We got the Bread, Zucchini Tarte, and Truffle Fries as tapas for the table. All tasted amazing, though there could have been more bread. I got the Agnolotti, which was rich in flavour. My sisters got two vegetarian dishes, Eggplant Parm, and the Crema di Stracciatella. Both loved their main dishes. Two of us got the half orders of our dishes, but they were still large serving sizes. The decorations speak for themselves. We went during their jazz night too, but it wasn’t too loud that we were still be able to talk. And even though all of these elements worked together, I felt like the service could have been better. They forgot to put the shrimp in my Agnolotti and brought it on a small plate. Our server was very nice and handled the situation well. But for the general price range that we paid for the meal, I often expect more intention and care set out for each table. I didn’t expect anything complimentary items, but I listed in the reservation that it was a celebratory dinner and that was not acknowledged. Still, if you’re looking for a nice meal and some jazz, I would recommend this place!
What a cool place! The decor is underwater in shells watching jellyfish float by and other sea creatures on the ceiling! The food is amazingly presented and delicious! The service by all was excellent and our main server, Katalla, made the whole experience a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend checking out Ula!
I recently dined at ULA Restaurant & Tapas Bar and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was inviting and perfect for a relaxed evening out. I ordered the bolognese, half garlic shrimp, an espresso martini, and finished with the pecan tart for dessert. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The bolognese was rich and comforting, while the garlic shrimp was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. The espresso martini was expertly crafted—smooth, balanced, and a great complement to the meal. The pecan tart was the perfect ending, offering just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, everything came together for a well-rounded and enjoyable dining experience. I would definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Wowza!!! This was a surprise hit in NYE afternoon. We were looking for a tapas bar near Union Square and we ended up here… MUCH TO OUR DELIGHT! It’s mainly French influenced cuisine with and extensive cocktail bar and a decor that feels like a Wonka meets Gaudi. (Jellyfish hanging lights?! 🤷♂️) The portions we small (similar to those in France) and the flavors were AMAZING!! And the cocktails were fab as well. Next time we’re in SF, we’ll likely make a bee-line right to Ula. Pricey, but worth every penny. NOTE: they build 20% gratuity into the tab, even for a party of 2. Took us off guard, so just so you know.
