This place really surprised me. We visited Fire & Ice Grill and Bar near Fisherman’s Wharf, and I honestly did not expect to find such a good restaurant in such a touristy area. I had seen Mongolian barbecue style restaurants before when I was in college, but most of them were just average. This one was different. The flavors were really well balanced, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the whole experience was actually fun to watch. The setup is very interesting. You pick your own ingredients first — vegetables, meats, noodles, and other items — and then choose your sauce at the end. One reminder: make sure to put the sauce in the sauce container, not directly mixed with the raw ingredients, because it can burn on the grill. At first, the process may feel a little confusing, but once you understand how it works, it is actually very enjoyable. The two chefs working around the huge circular Mongolian flat-top grill were amazing. They were constantly moving, cooking, organizing orders, and helping guide people through the process. It almost felt like a live cooking show. They had to manage so much food at once, control the heat, add seasoning, and make sure every order came out right. Their skill and energy really made the experience special. The food itself was also very good. The first round of meat was so tasty that I immediately understood why people enjoy this style of grill. The chefs controlled the timing and heat very well, and the sauce and seasoning made everything flavorful. I also customized a burger and a hot dog, and both were surprisingly good. The meat tasted fresh, and for an all-you-can-eat place in a famous tourist destination, the price was very reasonable. Another thing I appreciated was the vibe. The staff were friendly, the chefs worked extremely hard, and the whole place had a fun, energetic feeling. We tried to give the two chefs a personal tip because they were clearly the hardest-working people there, but they kindly told us to put it in the shared tip jar instead. That really showed a good team spirit. The location is also excellent. The restaurant is tucked inside, with beautiful views of the water. We saw boats, the bay, and even a fire boat on the water while eating. Great food, a bar, a fun cooking show, and an amazing waterfront view — it was a much better experience than I expected. Our guests really enjoyed the whole process. This place completely changed my impression of Mongolian grill. Highly recommended, especially if you are visiting Fisherman’s Wharf and want something fun, tasty, and different.
What a wonderful experience! We had a group of more than 20 people here today for lunch, and everyone had a great time. The restaurant has a spacious dining area, a beautiful waterfront location, and an amazing view of the bay. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for gathering with friends and family. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. A special shout-out to the two chefs at the Mongolian BBQ station—they were absolutely fantastic! They worked nonstop, cooking dish after dish with incredible skill and energy. Honestly, the quality and flavor felt like something you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. The food was fresh, delicious, and cooked perfectly. Our entire group enjoyed a memorable afternoon here, and we truly appreciate the wonderful hospitality. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the pier 39 or the area nearby. Thank you for such a great experience! ❤️
First time here a Saturday evening not too busy. 35$ all you can eat Mongolian BBQ. Selection of noodles, veggies meats and sauces was good. Dinner with a view of the bay and bridge. Our server Nathan was the high light of the meal our drinks were at our table. He checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. He was a vibe, it makes the dinning experience top tier. I forgot something at the table and he came and tracked us down before we got to far above and beyond. We will definitely be back. Ask for Nathan!!
We visited FiRE+iCE Interactive Grill & Bar at Pier 39 with 7 adults and 5 children and went for the signature interactive grill experience. It was a great and fun lunch experience, especially with kids. The concept is simple and enjoyable — you build your own bowl by choosing your proteins, carbs, vegetables, sauces, and spices, and then the chef cooks everything fresh right in front of you. You can go for multiple rounds after finishing your bowl, which makes it totally worth it. The pricing is very reasonable for the experience: • Kids: $12.99 • Adults: $24.99 We went around 2 PM, and it was perfect timing — we were full for the rest of the day 😂. They also have a good variety of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. We tried the Irish coffee, one of their signature drinks (with vodka), and it was excellent. There’s plenty of space, the service was great, and we spent about 2 hours without feeling rushed. The food tastes amazing if you know how to balance your sauces and spices — remember, less sauce is more, because the chef cooks everything you pick 🤣. Great food, great taste, great service, and a really fun experience. Highly recommended for families, groups, and anyone looking for something interactive and filling.
Great Food, Great Service and Great View! We recently stopped in at FiRE+iCE Interactive Grill and Bar at Pier 39 on our holiday from Australia. We actually went in as the name intrigued us. We were seated at a window table where the views over the San Francisco Bay were awesome with huge windows providing a view from any seat. The whole concept is to select a bowl of your own food combination of rice, pasta, noodles, fresh vegetables and salad, meat and seafood and then from a combination of sauces, which you then take to the huge round BBQ grill to have a chef grill it up and serve to you to devour! The option to go back as many times as you like, filling your bowl to have various food combinations is different to the usual buffet style restaurants, where food is already pre-cooked and pre-prepared, so having it cooked fresh is so much better. The staff, waiters and chefs were very friendly and accommodating and we even had the pleasure of meeting the manager and talking at length with him personally. I would thoroughly go back to FiRE+iCE Interactive Grill and Bar for a feed if I was in San Fran again and recommend going there for a great feed and an awesome cocktail while looking over the bay! Thank you Ken for the experience and Dusty for awesome cooking of our food :-)
