The atmosphere is dark, but classy and comfortable. They started us off with some bread and butter, and some drinks. We ordered a Pomegranate Martini and a Dream Berry. We loved the martini, but the Dream Berry was too sweet. We then had the lobster cocktail. It was cooked & chilled well, but had no flavor. For the main course, my husband had the porterhouse and said it was perfect. I had the Alaskan king crab legs, they were fantastic. Our sides were the twice baked potato and asparagus. For dessert, we ordered an espresso martini, a piece of chocolate cake with freshly made whipped cream. We tried the drink the Winter Whistler (irish cream, chocolate liqueur, sea salt caramel liqueur, coffee and whipped cream). The cake was delicious, however the two drinks were not our favorite. I order espresso martinis almost everywhere I go, and this was just overly intense on the espresso flavor. The Winter Whistler looked great on paper, but it just wasn't our taste. There's no question we'll return next time we're in town!
I’m from Denver and have always had great experiences at Mastro’s locations, including Chicago and the Ocean Club in Los Angeles. This visit in San Francisco was no exception. Diana and Monique were absolutely outstanding. Their service was attentive, friendly, and professional, and they made an already great dining experience even better. The food was exceptional from start to finish, and everything exceeded my expectations. Whether you’re visiting San Francisco for business or pleasure, I highly recommend Mastro’s. The combination of incredible food and top-notch service makes it a must-visit.
Our waiter anthony was AMAZING and the entire Wait Staff made you feel like you were the only table in there!! The ambience/vibe and view are INCREDIBLE!! This is the 3rd Mastro’s I’ve been to in CA and would definitely come back!!
Late to post but still amazing. Been here a handful of times and each moment is consistent in quality, service and experience. Dining at the bar or table, you’re in for a treat. The live music is always amazing. They even have a gluten free menu ( just ask)! Strong cocktails- sizzling steaks…. It’s a vibe.
Mastro’s has delivered a wonderful experience on both of my visits over the past two months. The atmosphere is elegant and lively, making it an ideal setting for a special evening out. Service was exceptional each time — attentive, polished, and welcoming. The live music, particularly the female vocalist, added a memorable touch that truly enhanced the ambiance. The lobster bisque is a standout: rich, velvety, and generously filled with lobster. I ordered the scallops on both visits since they’re one of my favorite dishes. While they were good, they weren’t the highlight for me. Everyone else at the table ordered filets and thoroughly enjoyed them. The sides were equally impressive, especially the lobster mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Between the warm bread basket, delicious desserts, and extensive drink menu — including creative non-alcoholic options — the meal felt complete from start to finish. Overall, Mastro’s offers a refined dining experience with strong service, excellent ambiance, live entertainment, and plenty of menu items worth returning for.
