Holy! Came here on an impromptu stop with coworkers needing dinner. We were seated and had drinks within minutes. Gionni came and suggested several options. His passion was palpable. We had just passed our menus back to him and I swear less than a minute later our food was out. It was soooo fast. I had the fettuccine oxtail and I'm still thinking about it. Absolutely delicious. Great vibes. Excellent food. Amazing service. Please recognize Gionni for his service. Added so much to our night.
the beet salad was very good. it had a creamy sort of dressing and the beets were well cooked and had a lot of flavor. so did the olives but they gave me heartburn. the gnocchi was very good as well. we spent about $41 per person with tax and tip. very nice, courteous and friendly service. we went for an early lunch just a little before noon and had the place mostly to ourselves. it's a beautiful well laid out space airy and light. when we left it was starting to fill up and get a little noisy.
We planned to have dinner in Hayes because we were going to SFJAZZ later that evening. We had walked by this restaurant a few years ago when we lived in Hayes, but never had a chance to try it, so we finally decided to give it a shot. We ordered two drinks, the Espresso Fizz and the Mama Mia. The Espresso Fizz was made with vodka, coffee liquor, Frangelico, espresso, and a toasted marshmallow. It tasted really good, well-balanced with a rich and aromatic coffee flavor. The Mama Mia came with gin, raspberry syrup, strawberry puree, canton, cointerau, Licor 43, and egg white. This drink tasted fruity and refreshing. We started with the Calamari and Shrimp, which came with fried calamari and shrimp with a side of tomato sauce. They were fried to perfect crispiness while still tender inside, and the shrimps were jumbo-sized and sweet. We also got a Margherita pizza, which was made with tomato, mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, and basil. It was simple, classic, and delicious. The only thing we were disappointed with was the service. Our server never came to check on us throughout the meal and only returned after we had finished eating. We wanted to ask for red chili pepper and cheese, but we couldn't find him while we were eating, so we just gave up. I hope the service can be more attentive in the future. Other than this, everything was great.
This restaurant carries a history of Michelin recognition (2019-2021), which naturally sets a certain expectation. The Burrata & Prosciutto and grilled octopus were well executed, and the Cacio e pepe pasta truly stood out, perfectly al dente and full of flavor. The rotisserie chicken was nicely roasted and satisfying. The kitchen clearly understands technique and balance. The ambiance is warm and inviting, ideal for a relaxed yet refined meal. Service was pleasant, though at times a bit slow, particularly in the outdoor seating area. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience with beautifully executed pasta. I would gladly return.
