Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Portion to Price: 4/5 Overall: One of my go tos in Chinatown if I want noodles. The extended review... Food: Guilin Beef Rice Noodles - 4/5 - There's a hearty potion of beef and noodles and the flavor is quite nice. What u don't know is if you get a bone every single time. I may have just gotten lucky. Service: 4/5 - Friendly and attentive service. Ambiance: 3/5 - Seating is a little tight in this spot. Portion to Price: 4/5 - As I mentioned above the portions are quite good here compared to others.
This spot serves up authentic Chong Qing-style noodles. I got their spicy beef noodle soup, pro tip, you can adjust the spice level and even get the chili oil on the side. Every bowl is loaded with depth, from the rich savory broth to the perfectly chewy noodles that soak up every drop of flavor. The beef was juicy and tender. The spice definitely cleared my sinuses and even had me sweating, that’s how you know the food is good. I got their seasonal vegetable which is ‘Choy Sum’. Throw back to my childhood veggies. The vibes were chill and it’s very close to a parking structure ‘Portsmouth Garage’. Food came out quick and staffs were friendly. Good food and good vibes. -iG@BlackTigerEats
3.5 stars. Cute ambiance, but soups taste pretty similar and noodles were good quality, but a bit overcooked. The noodles soups were bigger, but the pork belly dish was about as big as the appetizer. Noodle dishes not super memorable, but thet do the trick for a hearty meal. I'm not opposed to coming back by any means, but not my top of list.
I still dream about these noodles and next time I can visit. We ordered the House Cold Noodles: easily one of the best dishes. Today was a warm day, the noodles were refreshing, spicy and sour. There was no protein but the dish did not need it. They were almost addicting in nature. Would highly recommend you try this dish. Chong Qing Numbing Spicy Noodle: the soup was refreshing and noodle texture was gave just the right amount of chew. Wasn’t too numby or too spicy that you could not taste the food. Would recommend. Cabbage Pork Dumplings: Ordered this for my kiddo. Typical dumpling fare. We needed a non spicy dish otherwise it’s good but nothing too special. Came in on a Saturday around 3pm and the place was busy but did not wait long for a table. The restaurant itself is small and tight, ladies are friendly and service is speedy.
