Went here after jet lagged arrival, craving BREAKFAST! I was not disappointed food was prepared perfectly service was stellar and the diner was very charming, right down to the coffee cups of never-empty coffee. Highly recommended.
Came on a Wednesday and got an enormous delicious beef brisket plate for $22. Probably the best deal I’ve seen in North Beach. The hamburgers look pretty awesome too although I have not tried one yet. My friend got a chicken pesto sandwich which was less exceptionable but not bad. Definitely worth coming back! One note: sitting at the back is pretty loud, sounds like there’s a club or something on the other side of the wall so it was hard to hear my friend talking, but that’s probably not an an issue if you come earlier or don’t sit in the very back.
When you walk in you can feel the authentic charm of this diner. We sat immediately and our waitress was so attentive. My water and coffee were literally never empty. The food was outstanding. I had the eggs Benedict with home style potatoes and I didn’t have to add salt or pepper. Everything was seasoned to perfection and melted in my mouth. My fiancée had the Denver omelette and he enjoyed every bite and said there were nice portions meat inside. I would highly recommend if you are in the area to drop by and have a bite you will not be disappointed.
My experience here was excellent and rewarding. I came in on National Burger Day, and got the Belly Buster burger. The cook prepared my patty just how I asked for it, and my meal was well worth the price. Waitress sat me quick, was nice, and she was busy being the only one, I am very grateful to have found this place. I will definitely be coming back for seconds the next time I'm in North Beach.
OK. Maybe my expectations were too high after reading all the amazing reviews. My palette was set for the best burger in the world! My burger was good… but not the best ever. (A little dry, actually.) That said, the clam chowder was excellent, and the milk shake was amazing!! Can’t remember the last time I I was served a shake with the tin canister. I’d go back just for that! In fact, the I’d go back anyway. Just maybe just not looking for the burger apocalypse!
