Visited here for lunch, ordered chicken kebab with fries and falafel plate. It also comes with side salad. You order at counter and food will be served at the table. Service was very good. Food was very tasty. Highly recommend this place.
After finishing a meeting near Market and Van Ness, we were kind of hungry. My friend suggested we try some Hayes Valley restaurants, but they were all packed and noisy, not to mention too expensive. I suggested Jay's Grill because I walk past it every so often, and the menu looked good. There is a variety of Mediterranean dishes, including vegetarian and low-carb ones. Although busy, we got a nice table by the window. My friend ordered the beef kabob plate with rice, and I got a Caesar Salad with chicken. Our order was taken quickly and with courtesy. The plates were brought to our table within just a few minutes; faster than we'd expected. My salad was amazing! The dressing was on the side, and they gave me plenty of it. The chicken was tender and flavorful. This is one of the better Caesar salads I've had in San Francisco, even though it wasn't very expensive. I should also mention that it was BIG! Despite being hungry, I wasn't able to finish it. Our server brought us to-go boxes with a smile. I look forward to coming back here and trying something else from their menu. My only minor complaint is with some of the other patrons rather than the restaurant itself. One table was being especially loud. Luckily they left shortly after we got served.
Stopped by after checking the positive reviews and they were all that an more. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. Helped me decide on my dinner in a minute and brought out the soup in another 2. Thought the lentil soup was great, the star of the show was Jay's dinner plate and the kebabs. Fresh, fragrant and delicious overall with the complimentary hummus, garlic sauce and the small salad. Will definitely be back
Great discovery!! Went on a Thursday night after a show at the Orpheum (two blocks away) around 9:45pm. Would be a great option after the Opera, Ballet and Symphony shows nearby. We had two smoothies: strawberry mango and strawberry banana, both delicious. We also got the Blue Cheese burger to share that comes with fig jam and a decent side of fries. The burger was so tasty and flavorful. Food was so good that we devoured it without taking any pictures but now we have the perfect excuse to go back. The place is clean, spacious and well kept. In addition, Jay was at the counter and he was very nice and kind to explain the multiple food options. Really looking forward to be back soon!
