Had a great 3 night stay at this hotel. All of the staff I encountered were friendly. The rooms are a decent size and clean. The location is central to most things and easy to get to public transport.
I stayed at the Hotel Adagio, Autograph Collection during my visit to San Francisco in June and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel combines classic elegance with modern comfort, creating a welcoming atmosphere in a fantastic central location. The rooms were comfortable, well-maintained, and provided everything needed for a relaxing stay after exploring the city. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the staff. Every member of the reception team was professional, friendly, and genuinely eager to help, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. Their attention to guests and positive attitude added a special touch to the overall experience. The breakfast was another standout feature. The selection was excellent, with high-quality ingredients and plenty of choice. I particularly enjoyed the Eggs Benedict, which were beautifully prepared and easily among the best breakfast dishes I had during my trip. Combined with the attentive service, it made every morning a pleasure. Overall, Hotel Adagio exceeded my expectations and offered the perfect combination of comfort, hospitality, and quality. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Francisco. The only small improvement I would suggest concerns the coffee selection at breakfast. As an Italian, I would have gladly paid extra for a freshly prepared espresso coffee, which would have made an already excellent breakfast experience even better.
I’m staying at Hotel Adagio in San Francisco at the end of the month, and I wanted to take a moment to recognize Flor for providing such exceptional service. She was incredibly genuine, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable about the property. She took the time to explain all of the hotel’s amenities and answered my questions with professionalism and enthusiasm. I haven’t even arrived yet, but thanks to Flor, I’m already excited for my stay. She has truly exceeded my expectations before I’ve even checked in, and that says a lot about the level of hospitality Hotel Adagio provides. I sincerely hope she receives the recognition she deserves because she is clearly a key part of creating an outstanding guest experience. Thank you Flor, I can’t wait to experience the hotel in person!
My stay was fine but the room rates are WAAAAAAY beyond the actual level of the hotel. I'd give the hotel a 3.75/5. The location is reasonably good in SF's downtown area but there is a very very sketchy element walking the streets. I saw crazy shouting people, people standing hunched over and motionless (fentanyl), some guy in his underwear lost in a drug enduced haze. It was disgusting....but its San Francisco, so you make your own conclusions. The hotel has a security guard out front at ALL TIMES. Let that sink in. The lobby is fine, nothing special. I opted for the breakfast included option during my stay and I was exceptionally happy with the quality of the restaurant. The staff were excellent and breakfast was wonderful. My room was nice, they were kind enough to upgrade me to a slightly larger room. The room wasn't bad at all, I had not a single issue but it just was what I'd consider a fine room, not worth the rates I paid. The decor is neutral, if not stale. But again, no issues. The hallways are very very ugly with exposed pipes and a bland color only described as mud meets baby vomit. I was in town for a big conference and paid $2200 for 2 nights, in a homeless warzone that could make Johannasburg, South Africa smug with pride. Definitely will NOT consider this hotel next time in SF just due to the overall cost/decor and the homeless on the streets. I will point out the staff were lovely and the breakfast was quite good.
I’ve stayed here 4 separate times and it’s quickly become my go to for SF. Cannot say enough about the staff. The bar staff brought me a bowl of lemon water with the chicken wings I ordered, something I’ve never experienced before. Front desk are super friendly, quick and easy check in. The bar staff are super sweet. The food is great. Rooms are all unique. Standby coffee is appreciated and should be copied by all establishments.
