You know how great this hostel is? I saw some ants (maybe around 9 ants) in my room, and I STILL rate it five stars. Perfect location for everything you’d wanna walk to, very cute inside, the private rooms are the perfect size for a broke single person. Ballroom/common area is gorgeous. Lots of clean bathrooms on my floor. I didn’t get to do the daily breakfast or the nightly events but they looked fun.
The best place i ever stay in SF, definitely on my bucket list on my next trip. The price is super cheap + THEY GIVE BREAKFAST AND DINNER, OMG thats a steal, love it!!. The big screen and comunal area is lovely, especially if you wanted to socialize. The bathroom and room are really clean, and also thank you for the wonderful staff, i only remember one name, her name is Amy, but in general most of them are wonderful. Thank you so much for being a great host, i am having a great time here!! 😊
Great experience! All that an adventurer can look forward to! Since I knew I wasn’t going to have internet when I got to states I printed out the instructions to get there and it was super easy! Between little Italy and Chinatown so lots of awesome places to visit and eat all around. Such an iconic place! Full of histor, fun activities and packed with interesting people! Great breakfast and cool accommodations like clean bathrooms and beds. Looking forward to visiting this turtle shell again ❤️
Room was clean and well kept, and you can tell they clean it regularly. Service was good and the location is really convenient, right next to Chinatown so there’s heaps of good Chinese food around. Super easy to get around from there too. I’d stay again next time I’m back. Everything felt tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was simple but nice — cereal, bagels, jams and all that. For San Francisco, the price is pretty good. Definitely recommend it for solo travellers.
This was my first hostel and I was very impressed! I found the staff to be incredibly kind, accommodating, and helpful with questions regarding my stay! The hostel is walkable to a lot of major sights in San Francisco, such as, Chinatown, Coit Tower, Lombard Street, Pier 39, etc. as well as public transit stations. The only issue I had with the location was the noise from the night club from across the street which made it hard to fall asleep. However, our bedroom was supplied with a window fan as well as a small personal fan in each bunk to stay cool and I assume to drown out the noise. There was decent accessibility to the bathrooms during my stay! I didn't have to wait to use the restroom once. My only suggestions is to come equipped with some $1.00 bills to rent towels which are $1.00 ea. and shower shoes. Each bathroom was fairly clean, but me personally I needed an extra layer of separation between my feet and the floor. The hostel's common area was very welcoming and offered a great feeling of community. I was not traveling alone, but my bunkmate was and she was able to easily connect with other solo travelers while staying at the hostel. Overall, whenever I find myself back in San Francisco I will be staying at the Green Tortoise Hostel :)
