Quite reasonable steakhouse. Arnold Palmer was made of freshly squeezed lemonade. It's a little hard to put into words. All the items were good, but somehow not among the best we've had. The porterhouse was big enough for two to share. Note that it did not come presliced, as some places would do. The steak knives were not the most efficient when separating the steak from the bone, but overall the steak was tasty on both sides. It wasn't very busy when we were there.
Osso Steakhouse is a bit hidden inside the Presidential building near the Performing Arts Center but worth finding. The happy hour Philly cheesesteak at $25 was the standout, gooey and satisfying after a day of walking. The steak frites was one of the better deals on the menu. Crab cake sliders had a nice pepper kick. The ribeye au poivre was good but not memorable. Classic steakhouse atmosphere, friendly staff without hovering. Would absolutely go back for happy hour.
If you’re after fantastic food, excellent service and you have something to celebrate this place is a great option. The steak was amazing and we were made very welcome. It’s not cheap but sometimes you need to treat yourself.
While on vacation we had a short stay in San Francisco. We wanted a nice steak and decided on OSSO because it is not a chain restaurant. Wowza! What an incredible dinner experience we had. The location was great! Easy to get to even for our Waymo. The restaurant itself is very nice and has a very nice ambiance for a romantic dinner or even a business dinner. Dress code was business casual, but we were able to go in with dark jeans and a sweatshirt. The service was great from the host, to the waiter and bartender. The food was amazing! Highly recommend the house cheese bread! We couldn’t get enough of it. The wagyu ribeye was probably one of THE BEST steaks I’ve ever had. Delicious and so flavorful! We probably didn’t need to order the two sides because between the bread and the steaks we were in heaven! We live in Texas and OSSO quickly took the top spot on our list for favorite steakhouses we’ve been to. Can’t wait to visit San Francisco again!
I wished if I knew this place earlier while staying in San Franc. Among many we tried in our August 2025 visit, this place was among the top tier. Their steak is outstanding along with the sides. Yet, their Burger was uniquely great, juicy and tender as good as it should. I must dedicate an appreciation statement to the Chef for his professionalism and devoting a high sense of customer care by serving the food in tune with our liking while maintaining that kicking flavor. On top of the great food, their service was attentive and our thanks to the guest attendants (couldn’t recall his and her name), but both took care of us right from welcoming all the way thru serving the food then greeting us on the way out. A sure repeat whenever back to San Fran.
