Oysters were good, food was good, but the Clam Chowder was the best!!! We went to a Giants game and came here after, it was crowded from the stadium but they were able to seat us much faster than we expected! Ordered appetizers only since we ate a lot at the game. The Clam Chowder was the best and creamiest! It was delicious! The oysters and clams were fresh! The soft shelled crab was kind of bland so I added the oyster sauce to it to give it flavor. The lady we saw who ordered had a huge crab, we got 2 tiny ones in our sandwich.

I've been to Hog Island where you can buy your oysters and shuck them yourself. It's a great outing. BUT my hubby picked me up from the airport and I was craving oysters before we drove back home, so we stopped here for dinner. We had the oyster bar mix (twice) we split the clamp chowder. Red abalone with salmon roe. And tried the BBQ oysters with Chipotle butter. And got some fries for our toddler. The abalone was so delicious, it was devoured shortly. My favorite oysters were all from hog island. They did have some from Maryland, which to me weren't sweet and were very bring. Just not my cup of tea, they weren't bad. Just in comparison to the tamales bay oysters, they were no match. The claim chowder was okay...just a cream and butter base with leeks, with full clams in their shell. Now, while I appreciate have full chunks of clams, I did NOT appreciate having cracked clam shells that I ended up crunching on. (Spuds clam chowder is my favorite. Bold flavor, lots of clams, potatoes, garlic, the whole works). To me this chowder just lacked flavor and needed the clam shells removed. But the Main reason we were there was because of the oysters. And they were so good we got another dozen. Over all, very good food, service was pretty good for being busy, (they refilled water jugs like ninjas), I would just not suggest the clam chowder.

We had an amazing experience and loved everything. Food, service, prices, ambience. We had: • the bread and butter, and you can immediately tell the bread is bakery-made —absolutely delicious. • oyster bar mix, fresh and flavorful • the smoked oysters were outstanding as well. • 🌟mussels, with fries or pasta which both were fantastic. The white wine broth was so rich and delicious that after finishing the mussels, we found ourselves drinking the remaining broth. • 🌟soft-shell crab sandwich, when it arrived, we were shocked to see a whole crab between the buns, we had never seen that before. At first, we weren’t sure we would like it, but we were completely wrong. The shell is incredibly soft, and once fried, you can barely tell it’s there. The crab was perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend this sandwich to anyone, even if it looks unusual at first. The service was excellent, the music created a great atmosphere, and we had a wonderful time overall. We can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic food, atmosphere and view. The waitress was horribly inattentive, but the other waitstaff were very helpful. The (chilled) Dungeness crab was fresh, full and sweet. Delicious! Great presentation too. Chose a dozen mixed raw oysters. The Sweetwater and Kumamoto were my favs. Well balanced and not too briny. Ordered some grilled oysters too. Really like the bourbon chipotle. Nice mild smokiness and spice. Michelin star in 2005. Food exemplified that star on my visit.

Very busy at lunchtime on a Saturday - wait time outside was about 20 minutes or so and it was well worth it. Clam chowder was excellent - very hearty, plenty of clams, and used my bread to insure I was able to get the last drops of broth. Prices were $$$. Very friendly staff - service was fast.
