We had such an amazing experience at Cotogna while visiting San Francisco for our anniversary. The food was incredible—every appetizer and pasta dish we tried was exceptional, and the drinks were fantastic too. But what really made the night special was how welcomed we felt. Being from out of town and celebrating our anniversary, the staff went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. Everyone was so warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. We’ve eaten at a lot of great restaurants, but I honestly don’t think we’ve ever felt as welcomed or special as we did at Cotogna. The atmosphere was so inviting that we actually found ourselves wishing we lived here just so we could come back all the time. Cotogna was one of the highlights of our trip and made our anniversary celebration even more special. We can’t wait to return!

I do feel this place is overrated. The portions are tiny and overpriced. It was good, but not as amazing as expected. Had been to Flour + Water recently and definitely preferred it there. The Raviolo is one large ravioli drenched in melted butter for over $30. We also ordered the Corn Triangoli Pasta and Fiore Di Zucca Pizza. The pasta was good, the pizza was just ok. Felt we could've gotten a better meal elsewhere, but worth a try. Enjoyed the vibes at our table outside with a heated lamp, yet service was pretty slow. Difficult to get a reservation. Had to wait a while once arrived even with the reservation. Probably won't return.

Yay!! Corn season is finally back. 🌽 The corn dishes are insanely good. The Saturday-only Carbonara Pizza never misses, and the Ricotta Ravioli is always the right choice. one of my go-to spots. 🤍

Exceptional Pasta & Open-Fire Cooking Our dinner at Cotogna was a fantastic experience, highlighted by incredible technique and standout pasta dishes that absolutely stole the show. We started with the salmon appetizer, which was a work of art. Not only was it visually stunning, but the flavors were balanced perfectly—light, bright, and the ideal way to wake up the palate and open up our appetite. For the mains, the pastas were the undisputed champions of the night. Both dishes we tried were a massive hit, but the egg raviolo was truly outstanding. It was executed with absolute perfection—delicate, rich, and flawlessly cooked. The waiter did mention upfront that they are primarily known for their pastas, and they certainly delivered. We also tried the funghi pizza, which unfortunately was a bit of a miss for us compared to the high bar set by the rest of the meal. On the other hand, the lamb was beautifully done. Cooked over an open fire, it had a wonderful smoky depth, and the accompanying sauces really bonded the entire dish together. While the wood-fired meat was impressive, the pasta here is so legendary that I’ll likely just stick to an all-pasta lineup next time. Overall, Cotogna offers a beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, and some decadent pasta you can find. A must-visit!

We had an incredible experience at Cotogna! We arrived right at opening on a Tuesday without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised to get seats at the bar immediately. Everything we ordered was excellent, but the pastas completely stole the show—they were easily the best part of the meal. The lamb ragù pasta was absolutely outstanding and one of the best pasta dishes we’ve ever had. The steak was cooked perfectly, the margarita pizza was fresh and delicious with an amazing crust, and the cannoli was the perfect sweet ending. The service was just as memorable as the food. Everyone was warm, attentive, and welcoming, making the entire experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. If you’re visiting San Francisco, Cotogna is absolutely worth a visit. We can’t wait to come back!
