There’s a reason PCH gets the fantastic reviews it receives. First, the vibes of the forest outside and low lit amber inside set a perfect mood. We sat outside and I have to say Louis was a rock star! He had an amazing control of his patio, as well as monitoring the influx of guests in and out. Louis is perfectly fit for his position! He was friendly, efficient, (given the fact it was a very full bar and patio and he greeted us warmly & quickly) and Louis also suggested excellent drink choices for us! I got the sake drink with the nut extract that was so good! Hub got thrilla in Manilla! I love how the cocktail list was divided by spirit ..This was on my bucket list and PCH dominated!!! Oh and extra bonus points for the fabulous music playing!! We sipped our stellar cocktails while listening to the explicit version of golddigger!!
Pacific Cocktail Haven (P.C.H.) absolutely lives up to its reputation. From the moment you step through the doors, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and welcoming. The back bar is breathtaking, with an incredible whiskey collection alongside an impressive selection of spirits from around the world. For bourbon lovers, spotting an Elijah Craig 18 pour was an unexpected highlight. The bartenders were a show of their own, crafting every drink with precision while taking the time to share their knowledge and passion. One of the best moments of the evening came when we noticed P.C.H.‘s exclusive Maker’s Mark Private Selection barrel. As frequent visitors to Maker’s Mark Distillery, we enjoyed comparing the custom stave profile and talking bourbon with the bartender. While my Old Fashioned was being built right in front of us with incredible attention to detail, they surprised us with a complimentary pour of their private barrel pick so we could experience the barrel on its own. That small gesture spoke volumes about the team’s hospitality and genuine enthusiasm for sharing great whiskey. The Barley and Me was another standout. The combination of Bernheim Whiskey, cachaça, chocolate cold brew, barley, orgeat, cinnamon, and bitters created a rich, balanced cocktail that was unlike anything I’ve had before. It’s an easy recommendation if you’re looking to try something unique. San Francisco has no shortage of great cocktail bars, but P.C.H. stands apart by pairing exceptional drinks with genuine hospitality. That’s the kind of experience that earns a return visit.
We came to PCH after learning one of their lead bartenders had just won a 2026 James Beard Award, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We were lucky enough to grab seats at the bar without a reservation and ended up returning multiple times during our trip. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and approachable, with plenty of bar seating and outdoor tables. The service was exceptional—attentive, knowledgeable, and never pretentious. Every cocktail was outstanding, from the Back in Black to classics like the Dirty Martini, Black Manhattan, Vieux Carré, and Sazerac. Every drink was crafted with care and precision. If we’re back in San Francisco, PCH will be one of our first stops.
I came on a Thursday evening in May around 10pm. There was a bit of a line, but I did not have to wait too long to get a spot at the bar. The staff here were very attentive. I enjoyed the atmosphere as well. I had the pornstar martini which was very good and tart! I also tried the Silky street which was delicious as well. I would recommend stopping here for a drink if you get the chance!
What a beautiful bar - bumping on a Saturday night. My favorite thing is the beautiful gated front patio seating, on both sides, there’s seating for groups and or small groups. The don’t patio is surrounded by living plant walls, which is gorgeous! Inside is very lovely but depending on what your scene is, it can be too crowded. The 3 of us enjoyed the fresh air and gated front patio. Fun crafted drinks and attentive service.
