At the border is Chinatown and Union Square, the WorldMark SF is a lovely building with nice, generous rooms and a welcoming staff. The only drawback was the loud neighborhood at night, lots of street noise and bar-goers, the supplied earplugs were necessary; but the room walls were thick, I never heard another guest once even being next to the elevator. Despite being over a century old, the building and rooms balance vintage charm with modern quality. The staff was accommodating and helpful in person, on the house phone, and via text message. Elevator moved fairly quickly for a classic hotel. Staying here was very close to my company's building in the financial district but the last block walking back to the hotel was very steep - taking the stairs at the Stockton Tunnel was easier but has cleanliness issues from a few homeless inside. Bed and bedding were firm yet comfortable, I slept very well once the sound issue was dealt with. Bathroom was nice, everything seemed clean, room was well-appointed despite being not a luxury hotel. Would have liked Wi-Fi to be included in the price of the room though. Great neighborhood with a mix of bars and restaurants that don't feel too full of themselves.
It's an old building, but she's sturdy, and warm or cold if you need it. Solid wood doors, uneven floors, wonky walls, but hey it's San Fran and added character. Staff were attentive, friendly, and willing to show us where to go. Clean and comfortable beds, pillows, and bedding.
Stayed here as a family of 4 ( two small children). Felt very safe with 24 hr security. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Friendly staff. Can't beat the location. Great value for money. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit San Francisco. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Overall great visit. Central location and about 15-20 min walk to most things of interest. Rooms were nice, architecture of the building was cool. Since it is an older building some portions of the room were slanted, but didnt take away from the stay. Only a couple things of note (which I didn't see/read about on the Worldmark site), is the 9th floor is the top floor of the hotel but the elevator only goes to the 8th. So, you have to walk up/down all your stuff one flight of stairs everytime you come or go. And only 1 ice machine on the 5th floor. If you are interested in the owner update/meetings, it is at the Cantebury hotel (a short 3 min Uber ride), which they order for you (roundtrip). Other than those couple things, great & friendly staff, helpful with local tourist recommendations and food options.
