We found the location to be great with lots of public transportation close by. The staff was amazing, accommodating, and always friendly. The hotel has a certain charm, making it clear why I read so many positive reviews before booking. The room was a bit humid, and the shower head did not provide much water pressure, but other than that, we had absolutely no complaints.
What a fun place to stay! Colourful and unique Hotel Del Sol offers a great experience in the midst of the city, with a heated pool and a well kitted out courtyard outside relaxation space can fit your mood whether that is for a rousing game of corn hole or a quiet spot to read in the sunshine. The rooms have a spacious and thoughtful quality absent in so many modern structures, walk-in closet space with luggage racks and artistic touches made my stay feel more like a home coming than a pause in transit. With freshly brewed coffee the breakfast, including locally baked just delivered pastries, helped me set off on my errands with vigour. When next in San Francisco I’ll be sure to check for availability at Hotel Del Sol, it’s a stay worth visiting for.
The hotel location is amazing, it's in a safe and quiet neighborhood near Lombard st and has access to multiple bus routes. The hotel itself was nice and looks great especially at night. The staff were also friendly and cooperative. Initially we were put in a room above the garage door and the sound/vibrations of the garage door was a bit disruptive to our sleep.. we expressed our concern and thankfully the next day the staff member was able to change our room to a big and quiet room at no additional cost. The hotel breakfast was very filling and nice to start our day with! I would stay at this cozy hotel again next time I come to SF.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Del Sol. The family suite was a great fit for us—clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for everyone. The staff truly stood out—so warm, friendly, and always quick to help with anything we needed. The location is fantastic, with easy walking access to shops, restaurants, and even the waterfront. Breakfast was a great perk each morning, and we loved the added touches like all-day access to water, juice, coffee, fresh fruit, and afternoon cookies. On-site parking was incredibly convenient, and the courtyard amenities really made the stay special—the heated pool, fire pit in the evenings, and plenty of seating to relax and unwind. We would absolutely stay here again!
Staff was AMAZING! So friendly and helpful. Location was perfect. Atmosphere inside courtyard was cute but rooms are small and the beds for my kids where so old and worn that they were crazy uncomfortable. We decided to check out early for the sake of comfort.
