Kasa The Addison San Francisco

I wanted to leave an honest review for future guests considering this property. First, I want to acknowledge that the customer service team was responsive and accommodating. They were able to provide us with an early check-in, which we appreciated and started our stay off on a positive note. Unfortunately, the apartment itself had several issues that significantly impacted our comfort during the stay. The first issue was the in-unit washer. When we used it, it leaked into part of the living room. While accidents can happen, this was obviously concerning. The biggest design flaw is the upstairs bathroom. It’s a fully “wet room” style bathroom, meaning there is no separation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom. Every time someone showers, the entire floor—including the area around the toilet—becomes soaked. Because the bathroom is used throughout the day, the floor rarely has a chance to fully dry. For a modern accommodation, this felt both uncomfortable and unhygienic. The bathroom layout creates additional frustrations. The sink is extremely small—honestly the smallest sink I’ve ever encountered in a rental property—and it’s difficult to comfortably wash your face or use it for basic daily routines. The bathroom door opens directly into the bedroom area, and because of the tight layout, the door nearly hits the bed when opened. Since we were trying to keep the bathroom ventilated and dry, we often left the door open, but then had to maneuver around it every time we needed to use the bathroom. Storage was another major disappointment, especially given that we paid extra for the loft-style unit. There were only five hangers provided in the closet, no dresser, and no drawers anywhere to unpack clothing or personal items. As a result, we lived out of open suitcases for the duration of our stay. What made this especially frustrating is that there appears to be plenty of space where a dresser or additional storage furniture could easily fit. Most Airbnb-style accommodations provide basic storage so guests can settle in comfortably, and this unit felt overlooked in that regard. The most concerning issue from a cleanliness perspective was the bedding. The pillowcases had a very strong fragrance or cologne-like scent when we arrived. We couldn’t tell whether they had been properly washed or had absorbed the smell from a previous guest, but it was unpleasant enough that we ended up washing them ourselves after the first night. Overall, while the location and customer service were positives, the apartment felt designed with aesthetics and space efficiency prioritized over guest comfort. The lack of storage, the impractical wet-room bathroom, the washer leak, and concerns about bedding cleanliness made this a much less comfortable stay than we expected, particularly for the price. I would encourage future guests to consider whether these factors would impact their experience before booking.
Kasa the Addison in Pacific Heights is a great place to stay. We were there for a month and it was extremely comfortable, clean, conveniently located and the property manager is extremely helpful! Highly recommend!
Stayed here for a month. Part of what appealed to me were the size of the rooms and the amenities, like a full kitchen and washer/dryer unit. My first room was difficult, the temperature was like a sauna, despite it being 50 degrees outside. The fan under the bed was covered in dust. There was a portable A/C unit but it ended up heating the room as much as it provided cool air. What was most frustrating, was that the dryer didn't work. At all, in either unit. So I did a load of laundry, but had to hang dry everything. For the amount of money paid of the room(s), I expected the amenities to be in top shape. They do have great service and were quick to respond. Ryan was great. I loved the location. If they fixed the amenities issues it would be perfect. Would stay here again.
Kasa Addison was a fantastic stay! The space was great, clean, and comfortable. Customer service was superb — it exceeded all my expectations. The location was perfect and worked really well for us. I’d definitely stay here again!
