History meets relaxation. Stayed at second floor and the people walking on the alley can possible see you/the room but they have blinds. The room is small but comfortable. Everything is well decked out and neat. Elevator’s slow thats understandable, this building is historical. Short walk to Union Square/Chinatown. Overall was a comfortable stay, restaurant next door is a plus but there’s plenty restaurants in the area as well.

What a great find. The entire staff excelled at being extremely helpful. At check-in we were offered an upgraded room, and at my request one that faced the street (to avoid side wall views). We received daily housekeeping service, which seems like a little thing, but many hotels have stopped offering it, and I've come not to rely on in most places. Coming into a clean room with fresh towels always put a smile on my face. The room was larger than expected; I appreciate a room that has a sitting area and a desk (which I used every day). Every detail of the room was thoughtfully curated, from the fascinating wall graphics, to an extremely comfortable bed, to bedside USB charging ports, to a bulletin board over the desk, to thoughtfully placed lighting, to a beautiful and functional bathroom (with its own window), to a nice nespresso machine, complete with pods and creamer. I especially appreciated the lobby level coffee/pastry restaurant. The hotel restaurant and bar were very inviting, but our schedule didn't allow time to explore. It was definitely a plus for many guests. The hotel has a single elevator for its seven floors, but it was remarkably efficient. I rarely had to wait. Finally, I hadn't been to San Francisco since the pandemic, and I had prepared myself for a city in decline. Quite the contrary. The city felt alive and safe. Overall, this was a real find, only steps from Powell Street and Union Square.

Had a wonderful stay here! The staff was very kind and incredibly accommodating. They let us check in a tad early and were very friendly every time we talked to them. The room was in great condition and quite cozy! A bit of a modern spin on and older building; it looks really nice! The lobby/bar area is very cozy and there's a cute breakfast/coffee shop too. They are really nice spots to relax in and vibe to. Even though this hotel is almost in the heart of the city, I felt quite safe here and was able to relax. I get a little sketched out about safety in the city, but this spot is totally fine. There's a walgreens down the street and a 7-11 accross from the hotel, along with a nice diner a few buildings down and other restraunts close by. The Nintendo store is literally a 5 minute walk away too! It's a fantastic spot. The valet parking is worth the fee with how busy the roads are, would highly recommend getting that service.

Hotel Emblem completely delivered! The location is absolutely everything: cable car stops are right there, a Simpsons bar is literally next door, and a Walgreens is just down the street. It also felt incredibly clean, inside and out (the outside didn’t even smell, which honestly says a lot for SF). Every single staff member we interacted with was genuinely happy to be there and so eager to help. That kind of energy is rare and it really set the tone for the whole stay. We had a double bedroom and it was spacious, clean, and super inviting. I loved the built-in white noise machine, and you can request a refrigerator for your room, which I thought was such a great touch. There were honestly a ton of amenities I didn’t even get to use, like yoga mats and more, but loved knowing they were there. The bar downstairs is super vibey, and the coffee spot in the morning was excellent. 10/10 will be back next time I’m in town!

I really enjoyed my stay here. It was only one night and the room was small, but other than that, it was great. It's an old building, but they keep it very well maintained. There was a water fill-up station on the floor and the room itself didn't seem old. The bathroom was nice and the bed was very comfortable. I really liked the pillows! They were fluffy and if they were down feathers, I didn't notice (I hate down pillows with a burning passion, so I assume these weren't down, more like "do you enjoy your head down on the bed because this pillow isn't going to support you at all"). The front desk attendants were also very nice and friendly. The hotel gives you a gym pass if you want, it's just a short walk over to the 24 hour fitness a few blocks down. It was far better than a hotel gym, so I'd say it's a win-win. And the location, if you want to be near Union Square, is fantastic. It's close to the muni train, so I was able to take that to get to where I needed to go. I might stay here again the next time I'm in town! I didn't get a chance to try the bar this time, maybe next time.
