South End Rowing Club
San Francisco
Anmeldelser
Historic San Francisco aquatic club known for cold-water swimming, open-water conditioning, and a tight community built around daily training in Aquatic Park. South End attracts serious swimmers, rowers, and triathletes, along with a broad mix of longtime locals who value grit over amenities. The clubhouse is basic but active, with constant foot traffic from members heading in and out for swims, rows, or sauna time. Many notable San Franciscans have trained here over the decades, and the culture emphasizes accountability, volunteer work, and respect for the Bay. The club maintains a strong tradition of events, long-distance swims, and year-round participation. A cornerstone of the city’s waterfront athletic scene.
It’s one of the nicest swim communities in the world. Club sports also include handball, rowing and running. We are very social and fun-loving, and we welcome guests. Please know that we are an all-volunteer club, so if you show up - especially midday, it’s possible no one will be there to let you in.
