Stayed at this hotel for three nights and never spoke to a single member of the hotel staff. You can check in and check out completely on your own using the self-service desk, and there is security on-site 24/7. The hotel itself was clean and well maintained. One thing to note is that the walls are pretty thin, so you can easily hear people in neighboring rooms and the hallway if that is something that bothers you. The breakfast is very minimal with cereal, two types of danishes, yogurt, and a few grab-and-go items. Side note: If you’re walking around the area, be prepared to see unhoused individuals around the hotel and throughout the surrounding area. It was something I noticed during my stay and wanted to mention for anyone who considers that an important factor when choosing where to stay.

I had a great stay at YOTEL San Francisco. It’s clear that the hotel is well managed, and I’d especially like to recognize the General Manager, Paige. Her leadership is reflected in the overall guest experience, and it didn’t go unnoticed. The rooms are clean, modern, and have all the basics you need. They’re not huge rooms where you’re going to throw a party, but that’s not the point. If you’re in town and just need a clean, comfortable place to sleep, this hotel is a great option. The location is another big plus. It’s directly across the street from the Civic Center BART station, making it easy to get around San Francisco without a car. You’re also close to plenty of restaurants, attractions, and everything the city has to offer. If you’re looking for a clean, convenient place to stay with easy access to the city, I’d definitely recommend YOTEL.

The rooms are nice but incredibly small, certainly not enough for two people comfortably. The staff was great but only so much can overcompensate for the location. It is centrally located which I liked when i booked but as a woman traveling solo for work, it made me nervous walking into the building after hours. You have to be buzzed into the building with 24 hour security and when you walk out there are homeless people literally sleeping on the sidewalk outside. I am not nieve or adverse to our transient population and realize some are just down on their luck but unfortunately there is the other side of homelessness, those with mental health issues that defecate on the sidewalk in front of the building, or the old man with his pants down shooting a needle in his bottom right in front of me. Its not the hotels fault but I can certainly not advise others, especially women or those with children to stay at this location.

This was my first time staying at the Yotel but I HIGHLY recommend. It is modern and sophisticated yet each room makes you feel right at home. They have the most incredible vibe and a room type for every budget and group size. The location is easy to get to and near tons of great restaurants, including my favorite, Charmaine's rooftop bar, directly across the street. The staff (front desk and security) are so warm and bubbly you immediately feel welcome. They also have self check in kiosks so you can check in anytime on your own using the reference number emailed directly to you which is really great. Their email communication and directions were so helpful and really shine for people coming from out of town and may not know what to expect. I stayed in the Queen Suite which has its own living area and kitchenette with separate queen bedroom. but the most amazing part was the tech walls with TVs that don't look like TVs at all!. They appear to be just mirrors at first which was an absolute shock. Very sleek and modern with beautiful amenities and toiletries provided. 10/10 would recommend and would come back!
