It is under new management, but they appear to be holding to the hotel’s prior excellent reputation. The location is a safe and relatively quiet area. It is great jumping off point to many locations of interest. You can get almost anywhere in SF via bus in 30mins or less. The lively and elegant Marina District scene on Chestnut is only a couple blocks away. Only suggested improvement is a strong offering for breakfast and start serving earlier than 8am.
This was the perfect base for our short trip to San Francisco. You get what you pay for and can’t complain, the room was clean, comfortable beds and towels changed everyday. Location is perfect for the Golden Gate Bridge and a short walk down to the marina area, then it’s a nice straight walk along to Fisherman’s Wharf etc. Can’t comment on the breakfast as we didn’t have it but it looked lacking so I’d say if you want a substantial breakfast to eat out/on the go.
This hotel is located in the Presidio area that has parks overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge - this is a must place to visit for superb photoshoots! Rooms at the hotel are a bit on the smaller side - but you should be out all the time anyways. Close to Marina district with all foods possible. Great air-conditioning and heating. Clean and no bugs. The location is very safe. The hotel offers everything you need for a great rest.
