A magical experience! The Hotel Castro is modern-yet-homey in a great location. They've thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and fun. Make sure to spend some time enjoying the views from the roof deck!
I had an accessible room--two twin beds. As a woman solo traveler, I appreciated the three-lock system in entrance, elevator, room. The staff are exceptional--always there to help. Amenities are great. Have never had my personal Nespresso machine (with unlimited pods) and electric kettle with a tea assortment in a hotel room before! Bed very comfortable. There is a small refrigerator. Location cannot be beat! Restaurants, bars, clubs nearby. Le Marais French bakery down the street supplied my breakfasts in style. Loved this little treasure in the Castro district!
Although I only stayed for one night while in San Francisco for a medical appointment, I was blown away by this hotel. Arriving at 1 AM, I was exhausted, so I was incredibly thankful that I could use the app to check in and head straight to my room without waiting for a front desk. I’ve stayed in hotels all across the country, and none have compared to the unique atmosphere, thoughtful design, and location of The Hotel Castro. Despite having only 12 rooms, the hotel felt incredibly well planned. I especially loved having a private balcony with a beautiful view of the Castro, a spacious and comfortable bed, and a room that was cleverly designed to maximize every inch of space without feeling cramped. The amenities were excellent, everything was spotless, and the location couldn’t have been better - right in the heart of one of San Francisco’s most iconic neighborhoods. This stay far exceeded my expectations, and I will absolutely be returning in the future for a longer, more leisurely trip with my boyfriend.
Great location in the Castro area. Using keypad with special code, as no front desk, was fine and we had no problem accessing the room. Noise was not a problem even though we were on the second floor by the street. Bathroom great. Little "living space", but not a problem as we were there to shower and sleep. Bed comfy, though have to climb end from the end of the bed as no room on the sides to exit.Knew going in that it was only 200sq ft. Would stay again.
Amazing stay in the heart of the Castro! The hotel is exceptionally clean, modern, and very well maintained. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax and get a great night's sleep after exploring the city. The self-check-in process was extremely well organized, with clear instructions and a smooth, hassle-free arrival experience. The customer service was also outstanding—very responsive, helpful, and professional throughout my stay. The location couldn't be better: just steps away from the subway and surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars, and nightlife. Everything you need is within walking distance, making it the perfect base for discovering the neighborhood and the rest of the city. An incredible stay from start to finish. I highly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again!
