Reviews
Great location close to Union Square and Muni and BART. Standard king room was very comfy with plenty of pillows and a window nook. The bathroom was very spacious with a tub and separate walk-in shower. Some of the lights didn't work but there was plenty of it. The decor is nice but a little dated. Overall great stay and good value!
Stayed here for a few days during my trip to San Francisco and had a great experience overall. The location is hard to beat. Everything was nearby, and it made getting around the city very easy. The hotel itself feels elegant and well maintained without being over the top. My room was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for such a central location. The bed was comfortable, and I slept very well during my stay. I only had breakfast once, but it was good. I also had dinner at Bombay Brasserie during my stay. My only complaint was the speed of service. Everyone was polite and professional, but everything moved incredibly slowly. As a New Yorker, that was probably the most frustrating part of the stay. A simple request often took much longer than expected, which became a bit annoying after a while. Other than that, I really enjoyed this hotel. Great location, comfortable room, and a very pleasant stay overall. I would definitely stay here again when visiting San Francisco
Taj Campton Place was a well-rounded stay, and much of that was shaped by the quality of service at breakfast. Eligio was attentive and consistently helpful. We follow a strictly egg-free vegetarian diet, and he handled this with care and thought throughout our stay. The parathas were a particular highlight, freshly prepared and well-suited to our palate. He also arranged a custom dessert for a special occasion during our visit, a considered and personal gesture. The location in Union Square worked very well for us. Taj offered a room upgrade on arrival, and the view from the room was well worth it. The interiors are tasteful, housekeeping was thorough, and the overall experience held up across every front. A hotel we would return to.
Great 3-night stay. The location, room condition, staff, hotel breakfast, and the Indian restaurant inside the hotel were all excellent. The staff service was especially outstanding. The doormen also provided top-notch service. The restaurant service and food quality were both great. They also sent up a lovely dessert for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful and touching surprise. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely visit again.
