Those expecting the Boutique hotel experience that their website advertises will surely be disappointed. This is one step up from a hostel, and the second worst place I've stayed in my entire life. -- The rooms feature a mismatch collection of IKEA quality furniture. No temperature control, and giant wooden panels instead of curtains. This is great for blocking light but terrible for air flow. On top of that. One window wouldn't stay open, one had a broken screen, and one didn't lock which didn't make me feel safe. So two windows were out of commission. -- They also claim the windows are insulated for noise but even through the wood you could hear every car. Not to mention the constant noise and fireworks going off. -- The entire place smells like cat piss. It's on a dirty and noisy street. The only good thing is that the beds are comfortable. -- If you have any accessibility needs this is not for you. Lots of stairs.
Stayed at Ram's Hotel in SoMa on a solo trip and honestly cannot recommend it enough. The location is unbeatable if you're in town for tech or startup events since pretty much everything is walkable from the front door, which saved me a ton of Uber fare and time. The room was super clean, thoughtfully designed, and had everything I needed without feeling overdone. What really made the stay though was the staff. Every single person I interacted with was genuinely friendly and helpful, the kind of service that makes you feel looked after without being fussy. A special shoutout to Jay, the host, who genuinely goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. He is warm, attentive, and the kind of person who makes you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just another booking. The whole place has a really nice vibe too, polished but still relaxed. Already planning to book again next time I'm back.
Overall a very nice stay / good value. The area is central, it has some homeless around but they never bothered me. The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful. One negative was my room wasn't turned down until the 5th day of my stay even though we agreed every second day at check-in.
From the beginning, all smiles. Definitely glad I got a room here. Saturday night I paid for parking, at North Beach because Twitter garage is closed on Weekends, I used a rental car for SF events. Easy check in, I literally checked in 2days in advance. Just speak with staff about your trip, everyone's here to help you out😁. Great instructions for checking in After Hours🤝🏽. Room with a private bathroom is what I stayed in 🚒🔥 fire decision 😀. Late check out 💯 got eeeeem🎁.
We had a great experience at the Ram’s Hotel. The front desk service gentleman was very kind. There was an online check-in process which really helped for a smooth entry. Room was the size of the bed with some walking area, just big enough for what you need. We had the private bathroom, although there is a shared option- both were very clean! Gorgeous detailing in and outside the hotel. Free breakfast voucher for the cafe on the corner- which was also amazing. Parking was able to be found easily- although no on site parking, plenty of parking garages nearby. A place I want to keep in mind the next time I travel to SF. Thank you Rams!!!
