The rooms are updated and clean. Great location with restaurants nearby and a 15 minute walk to the bay. The parking free, but is limited and very tight.

We stayed here three nights. The rooms were very clean. Didn't hear any traffic noise. Staff was friendly. Reasonable price. Free parking. Close to public transportation. I dropped a star because the wifi was spotty. Couldn't watch video on my tablet.

When planning our family vacation, I looked extensively at different places throughout San Francisco. I didn't look just at pricing, I also checked location to see what was going to be near what my son wanted to see. After narrowing it down to a place in Cow Hollow, we settled on the Lombard plaza motel. The motel has just a few rooms, but it is in a good part of town. I received a discount for booking early and paying in advance. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. It appears as though our room had been recently upgraded. It had nice flooring and new tile in the bathroom and the vanity area. Our room also came with a nice sized refrigerator and microwave as well as a desk and a three-drawer dresser. One thing my son insisted on was air conditioning. Every room has its own air conditioner. You can set the temperature for whatever you are comfortable with. They also come with cable and wi-fi. Now, the first week we were here we had no issues with the wi-fi. The second week, it was hit or miss. I did bring it up with the gentleman at the front desk and he said he would talk to the manager. It improved slightly but still not consistently. One other issue is parking. It is extremely limited. There is the main lot in front of all of the rooms which has a narrow drive. There is also a back lot with an even more narrow drive. If you are driving a large truck or suv, you may not be able to fit. We were blocked in on more than one occasion by a pickup truck. This caused us to miss our night trip to Alcatraz. We had to reschedule that for a number of days later. Overall, this is a very nice place to stay. It has been mostly quiet. You do get room cleaning everyday. Fresh towels, fresh bed linens, fresh pillows. If you are looking for a comfortable, safe place to stay, be sure to check them out. They also have a number of discounts for local restaurants. One in particular that my son enjoyed was Honideyo. You can get 10% off with one of their business cards. In the lobby, they also offer brochures on a number of different activities that you can participate in while you are staying in San francisco. For other activities, be sure to check out CityPASS and GoCity.

This was a tough one between 3 or 4 Stars, but I reminded myself I only spent $101 stay here on a weekday night, which is a big bargain for San Francisco. When you pay for a Corolla, don't expect a Lexus RX350. When you get a steak at Applebee's don't expect a tender juicy porterhouse from Ruth Chris, you get what you pay for. PROs: -Clean room and bathroom, albeit it is an old building. -Mini Fridge and Coffee Machine -Air conditioning -Safe neighborhood with dozens of restaurants, cafes, bars, and eateries in walking distance and all real local joints. -Free Parking CONs: -Old building could use a fresh paint job -Old rooms could use a refurbish. -Very small room. -Mattress could use replacing, but the sheets were clean and pillows nice. -Definitely not for a romantic weekend getaway. I might spend a little extra next time to stay somewhere nicer, but if you're on a budget this place will do just fine.
