The room is clean. Comfortable bed and very clean linens. The bathroom is serviceable, although the sink is a little flat and does not drain small particles easily. Check in was smooth, quick and friendly. The room is like a cozy urban apartment. All the materials, like flooring and rugs, are good quality. Nothing feels cheap. There is no coffee in the room, but there is a machine in the lobby. Not good coffee, but it is something. There is a fabulous bakery right around the corner, The French Spot. Grab a delicious pastry and coffee there.

Overall it was a decent stay. I was a bit shocked for such a high security deposit for a hotel. Also it says it’s a queen room but it did not seem like a queen bed to me. My partner and I were shoulder to shoulder in the bed. However the bed was comfortable. Pretty basic room not too bad. The area can get a little dicey but you are close to a lot of things. I would just not recommend walking the area at night and just staying vigilant. Staff was friendly and check out was a smooth process. They were quick to refund my security deposit back I got it back the same day I checked out. Overall decent stay.

We ended up staying here for the weekend. Overall, the price was good, and the location was decent with plenty of places within walking distance. There is no parking, though. We had to park at 840 Sutter St. I’d recommend taking a look at my review of that place. 😬 I’d give the room a solid 6/10. The view was okay, but nothing special—I’d rate it a 5/10. The customer service was amazing. The staff was very helpful, and the free coffee was a nice bonus. The A/C didn’t seem to work in our room, but since it’s San Francisco, we just left the window open. It was also the Fourth of July, so there were sirens going all night. Other than that, I’d give the hotel an overall 6.5/10. The location was decent, and the price was cheaper than just about anything else in the area.

Loved our stay at FOUND Hotel Carlton! This is a classic hotel, built in 1924, but very well maintained and tastefully updated. The room was very clean and spacious. And the bed was super comfortable, as were the pillows. And they had a few to choose from, which was really nice. We had a really restful nights sleep. The bathroom was very clean. The water was plenty hot and the pressure and flow were outstanding, which are important factors for me. There was a mini fridge, but no microwave or coffee maker. (These are found in the lobby). This is located in a great, central location in the City with several fun bars and lots of good food within walking distance. The lobby area was super comfortable and they have a fancy coffee machine for the guests. They also have lockers for guests to store bags prior to or after check-in. Best of all, the price was very affordable. We will definitely be staying here again.

You certainly get what you pay for. It's not a bad place to stay if you're traveling with all adults, but wouldn't recommend it to anyone traveling with younger children. Front desk staff was amazing! The room left a bit to be desired. Dirty shower floor, visible mold and mildew in bathroom, and the linens of both beds in my room had stains. Some *looked* like blood and a mysterious yellow. The front desk gave me new sheets to change them myself but the new ones also had the mysterious red stain?? The floor was dirty and when I had to change my own sheets saw a bunch of previous guests' hair on the mattress protector. But, it was a cheap stay for 5 nights in the city. As other reviews mention, the area around the hotel is certainly not great. Watch where you step, but as long as you're smart it's unlikely you have any confrontations with anyone. Easy access to public transit, Lyfts aren't that expensive, and a bunch of cafes/food options in walking distance.
